Gold Medal in Super G for Nicolas Béréjny

2010-03-31

Nicolas Béréjny, led by his guide, Sophie Troc, won the gold medal in Super G at the Paralympic Games in Vancouver, enriching an already impressive track record:

2006 / Paralympic Games: 1st in Slalom and Giant - 3rd in Downhill
2009 / World Cup: 2nd in Downhill - 3rd in Super G and Overall
2009 / World Championships: 1st in Giant
2010 / European Cup in Arta Terme: 4th in Super Combined and Super G - 6th in the Giant
2010 / World Cup Final - ASPEN USA: 1st in Super G and Super Combined - 3rd in Downhill

At the age of 42, Nicolas Béréjny, "one of the best team leaders for France" and his guide, Sophie Troc, fulfilled their supporters' expectations and defended successfully the French colors.

This workaholic, visually impaired athlete, has been training since 2003 with his guide Sophie Troc. She is his eyes. Connected to her by the wireless audio conference system VOK-SNOW from the range of ADEUNIS RF’s VOKKERO, he avoids his problems of visibility, including shadows and lights, by extremely precise information that she sends. Thus the audio link allows him to anticipate barriers for the best, on all ll types of tracks, including the most challenging such as Whistler, Canada.

Congratulations to this closely-knit team!
